Getting Started with Member Preferences

Member Preferences let you store information your Members have shared, such as their interests, preferences, likes, or hobbies. These fields help personalize engagement and deliver more relevant experiences within your loyalty program.

Member Preferences can be configured as either Single Value or Multiple Value fields.

A Single Value Member Preference stores only one selection or entry provided by a Member. For example, you could ask a Member to select their favorite food, and allow them to pick only one option from a list.

Conversely, a Multiple Value Member Preference stores more than one value. For example, you could present your Members with a list of ten hobbies, and ask them to check the ones that interest them. All values checked by a Member will be stored in the same Member Preference.

When configuring a Member Preference, you must define the set of valid values from which the Member can pick. This set of valid values is referred to as the Domain.

Member Preferences can optionally be bounded. A bounded Member Preference means that the Member can pick only from among the values in the Domain. An unbounded Member Preference presents the Member with that same set of valid values, but also allows them the option of entering a value.

From the Member Preferences screen, you can view information about all the Member Preferences defined in your Loyalty account. You can also create new Member Preferences. To access the Member Preferences screen, select Program from the top navigation bar, then select Member Preferences from the side navigation menu.

For more information on the search options available on the Member Preferences screen, see Search for a Member Preference.
